It is quite good: the scales, details, fur and lightning are good, the color palette has a good harmony. However I believe that you should have played more with shadows around the scale areas. The texture isn't really visible at the head and wings. The dragons' skin is rough, but this one looks very soft. The eyes are expressive and shiny, and well-contrasted. You have well kept in mind the light source.

The most important thing is, in my opinion, the fact that the dragon looks like standing in front of a painted scenery. The background and character do not match. I don't mean that it isn't a good scenery for a dragon. Actually I think it is very nice and that the lightning is very well done and doesn't look like a childish painting, and a realistic thunder is, in my opinion, a very hard thing to draw. You've gained my respect in that point.

What you could have done, after painting the dragon, is to use a gradient with lighter and darker purple tones to show that the character matches there.

It is, in general, a nice piece, which, with a few changes, can easily look like the painting of a good artist.
